Staff Development in Orton-Gillingham Method of Reading Instruction for the Special Education Teachers and Orton Gillingham Tutors
The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education offers research supported Orton-Gillingham training for special education teachers and reading specialists for use in the learning resource classroom (LRC). Our Orton-Gillingham staff development programs are multi-sensory, kinesthetic, phonics based programs which can be added to your current curriculum to add reading foundation skills such as phonological awareness.
IMSE's updated Orton-Gillingham methodology is aimed at early intervention to decrease the number of students who are struggling with reading, writing, spelling, and reading comprehension when they enter the third grade. Our programs also are ideal for any student who has fallen behind or who have learning disabilities, dyslexia, or other impairments preventing their progression in reading development.
The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education also offers "Sensational Strategies for Teaching Beginning Readers" for parents to use with their children. We also offer a catalog of Orton-Gillingham materials and supplies for special education and the reading specialist. We also offer assistance with Orton Gillingham lesson plans.
